The Application Process – 3 stage process
The first stage requires you to use RPA’s online checker which will check if you are eligible to apply. This will take approximately 20 minutes.
If you are eligible to apply, the next stage requires you to complete an Ambient Environment Assessment Form, which will be sent to you by the RPA. This form will allow you to provide details of your design and specification of your proposed calf housing project.
Further details may be requested by the RPA if your proposed project does not meet the standard requirements.
Finally, if your Ambient Environment Assessment details are satisfactory, then the RPA will invite you to make a full application, by sending you a full application pack. For further details about the full application and how your application is assessed click here.

The minimum amount you can apply for is £15,000, with the maximum being £500,000 per applicant. The grant can cover up to a maximum rate of 40% of the eligible costs of the project, with the remaining costs paid by you.
